Looking down holes in the ground

As geotechs we spend a lot of time looking down holes in the ground. Sometimes they are a little bigger than usual, whether it is for a basement for the new Northern Land Council offices or an oversize hole for a sewer - we love it. Possibly if you are not a geo you will be left thinking "Really?".
