Remote Work
We have delivered numerous reports for remote community housing, infrastructure and road upgrades in remote regions of the Northern Territory and Western Australia. This often involves Traditional Owner engagement and liaising with Land Councils to get efficient and positive outcomes for all stakeholders. Whether your project is within the McDonnell Regional Council Shire (south of Alice Springs), the remote communities of the Roper Gulf, or the Anindilyakwa Land Council on Groote Eylandt, we can assist and draw on our knowledge of the soils and potential geotechnical constraints.
Testing
We offer a full range of construction materials testing to AS1289 at a NATA accredited soils laboratory. We have successfully worked in tandem with environmental consultants and recovered samples for asbestos, acid sulphate soil, and contamination testing. WANT Geotechnics also offers pile integrity testing from Cross Hole Sonic Logging to the capture of CAPWAP data. During construction, we can provide compaction certification, in-situ CBR testing of pavements, soil thermal and electrical resistivity, proof rolls, trench stability inspections and certifications.
Infrastructure
WANT Geotechnics can take you from desktop study through to investigation for the final design. In the resource sector we can provide the geotechnical input to your gravel search, the upgrade to your mining infrastructure as well as early stage geotechnical scouting to meet NT EPA requirements for Oil & Gas well sites.
Commercial & Residential
WANT Geotechnics can assist with all site classifications and soil tests for local builders, including subdivisions in Muirhead, Northcrest, and Zuccoli. We have worked alongside Charles Darwin University on their multi storey Darwin CBD Campus, the $250m Darwin Waterfront Hotel, the 10m deep State Square underground Car Park, and nearby Art Gallery, giving WANT Geotechnics an unparalleled understanding of the Darwin CBD geology.
